Vintage weddings are all the rage lately (with good reason)! So why not introduce yourself to another great local vendor that specialized in just that with vintage rentals! Kelly O’Connell is the co-owner of Good Ol’-Fashioned Party, check out this interview we recently had with her to find out more information!
What services do you provide for brides & couples?
Depending on what our couples need, we work on finding the exact elements that will make for a perfect event. From offering vintage rentals, to styling full events, to acting as day-of-coordinators, we tailor our services to match our friends’ needs. We’ll even go off the beaten path to hunt down that perfect item that you just need to have.
We thrive on making parties special and meaningful, and are passionate about making each day the BEST DAY EVER.
How did you first get started within the wedding industry?
With my wedding less than a month away, and our business less than a year old, the two have gone hand in hand. As my mom (and business partner), Heather, and I began hunting for vintage treasure for my wedding and putting plans together, we realized that we were great at it! I love being creative and designing elements of events, and my mom has a knack for organizing, scheduling, and crafting—it was the perfect mix. We are doing something we love, with people we love; we are very lucky.
What is your favorite part of Vintage Rentals/themes and what do you find that brides love so much about them?
Vintage elements offer an air of timelessness. They carry a feeling of romantic nostalgia that is special to our brides. Vintage details transform a cookie-cutter event into something very personal, very unique, and ultimately act as a reflection of our couples’ personal styles, personalities, and tastes. And of course, they are flat-out beautiful!
What is your favorite part of what you do?
I love the creative collaboration we get to have with our couples. It is so invigorating bringing dreams to life and creating events and memories that will stay with people forever. To be able to be a part of something monumental like a wedding, or a 50th wedding anniversary, or a baby shower, or any other special event that people cherish is a wonderful thing.

This wedding looks like a total blast! I love the decor! Take a look at the fantastic backdrop behind the cake table and gorgeous florals! Plus, there is a food truck and you can never go wrong with those. I love the food truck at wedding receptions trend. If I was getting married today, I would totally have one of those!
Coordinator Jessica Hearing with a Vintage Affair Events & Rentals shared her memories from the day, “This is one of my favorite weddings. Janelle and Jeremy’s spring wedding was so much fun! This couple is so sweet. You could feel the love radiating from them. They were sealed the in the Mormon Temple in the morning. Then they had a “ring ceremony” later at Chatfield Botantic Gardens so other guests could attend where they exchanged rings and some of their own vows to each other.
The vintage style gorgeous gown was actually made by the bride’s mom. The food truck by Epicurean Catering was a big hit and so delicious. The mini fired doughnuts were heaven! The colorful spring flowers by Sweet Pea Flowers consisted of mini sunflowers, ranunculus, yellow billy balls, garden roses, succulents, queens ann lace, sage, rosemary, lavender, and lambs ear. There was two bunting banners that matched the colors of the flowers that were strung over the patio where dancing was held. Her gorgeous sisters were her bridesmaid and each picked their own dress in various shades of yellow. Other fun details include a whiskey barrel table water drink station. An adorable vintage sweetheart table just for the couple. A fun paper triangle backdrop to go behind the vintage cake table. A lovely lounge area for guests to relax. Last, but not least a glow sticks at the end of the night to celebrate!”
